Cheap Thrills

It’s almost spring, but rainy days are still ahead and there are plenty of inexpensive crafty projects for a lazy Sunday afternoon. I was able to fill my inner creative spirit with a few rocks and sticks, a Black Sharpie (fine/chisel), some metallic paint and nail polish. Yes, nail polish. My favorite is I.C.E. that comes in a variety of beautiful metallic colors, goes on really smooth and only costs a dollar or two at Target.

If you’re up to a trip to Michael’s get a bottle of Inkssentials Glossy Accents. It adds dimension to your drawings, dries clear and looks great with nail polish on it. This is a great way to play for less than $5-10. You don’t care if you “mess something up,” just go get another rock.

If you’re happy with your end product, you can glue a magnet to the back, put them in a tiny gift bag and give them to a friend or family member just to say “thanks.”

As they say, it’s the thought that counts and a nice personalized “rock note” is a great way to show your appreciation.
