R.I.P. Dick Clark

“Music is the soundtrack of your life.” — Dick Clark

We lost an icon of American history today with the passing of Dick Clark. American Bandstand, the show he hosted and produced from 1956-1989, was the first time teenagers were able to see themselves on tv. The dancers were as much the stars as the artists who appeared on the show–from Elvis to Madonna and beyond.

It seems like an age of innocence, but the budding rock-and-roll scene was tormenting parents all over America.
