Stunning Typography: David Ogilvy

There’s nothing better than well-crafted typography. Sometimes we forget about the importance of typography and how it is an integral part of the design, not an afterthought. These examples by David Ogilvy show how typography alone is a thing of beauty.

  1. Beautiful! ‘Ogilvy On Advertising’ became my advertising bible 20 years ago and I still use it to this day. I haven’t seen these typo designs before though so thanks for showing them here. 😀

  2. I have to say, I had to look at typography completely differently after discovering these pieces. Ogilvy sets the highest standards, they should be everybody’s bible when it comes to design and advertising! Thanks so much for your comment, Stuart.

      • I started as a typographer, too! I studied journalism and worked on the papers as a typesetter. My goal was to self-publish. That never happened, but it’s probably why I’m blogging today. Funny how things turn out. Great to meet a fellow typographer!
