The uprisings in Egypt have spawned a new generation of graffiti artists who use the walls as their collective voice. The styles vary–some a variation on traditional Egyptian art and others inspired by Banksy or using more familiar hiphop styles. Graffiti is new to Egypt, appearing on walls around two years ago. Much of it is defaced or painted over that only makes the artists more determined to be seen and heard. Visit Suzee in the City for her blog on graffiti in Egypt.
