ATSF 2925

When I posted a pic of ATSF 2925 on Instagram, I had no idea the controversy and sadness it would bring to true railyard buffs. ATSF 2925 is one of the largest and most powerful steam locomotives Santa Fe ever operated that was sent to the California Steam Railroad Museum in 1986 to be restored to its former glory. Instead, the train was stored outside because of lack of space and left to the elements to rust and later tagged by vandals. Despite its rundown state it remains a remarkable piece of America’s past.
